Ex-MNA (JUI-F) Ms. Asia Nisar expressed her deep-hearted sentiments at a symposium organized by “Association of Women for Awareness and Motivation” (AWAM) in Lahore. She said that in her constituency under-age marriage still on peak. The girls, who have no idea about the meaning of this unlawful relation, are forced to obey their guardians for their entire life. All these activities are common even under the legislative restrictions, which do not allow them to proceed against the law. Children rapes cases have become routine affairs of our lives because the culprits may have options to get them released after attempting such a shameful act. Inaction against criminals has led to the law strengthening illegal activities in the country. I have been struggling for this noble cause for a long time and have even faced crucial situations in my life. But I believe with the core of my heart that it is our country and we are here to work for the entire humanity rather than to segregate it into minority or majority. One thing we must keep in our minds is that all humans are equal and must be treated equally. Law and justice only prevail when we accept and act accordingly, she concluded.
Prof. Dr. Irum Sultana (GCUF) is known for her blunt and concise assessment regarding human-relevant issues and their solutions. She said that one of the basic elements of all this unrest in the country may be that we have forgotten the true faith of humanity. She explained through an example that a house getting ablaze in our neighborhood is not an incident till we realize the temperature in our hearts, but when we feel it’s become a common issue. Nation doesn’t mean the people identified by their sects, beliefs, or even religion. The masses living in a territory must be considered equal for maintaining interfaith harmony. One more thing which I must convey through this platform is that give space and due respect to every living live even if you know them or not, but if you act, I assure you all that more than 80% of problems will be resolved without spending even a single penny. Tolerance always leaves its fragrance till we breathe, but when we consider ourselves as perfect and superior to all mankind, this specific point actually leads us towards utmost darkness. My humble request or message for all present here is to be humbled because we are not eternal, but good deeds will remain fresh in the minds of people till the last, she said.
Dr. Robina Khan (Assist. Professor, Lesbela University) said that such platforms are helpful in shaping the mindsets of the people for their due rights. The implementation of rules can only be done when the masses are informed about them. A large community from far-flung areas is still unaware of the rules made for their gradual growth because of their limited attention and attraction, as they are busy with their routine livelihood. Inequality, intolerance, and misinformation regarding the law are the bases that produce injustice in the countries. The representatives from various walks of life who are sitting under a single roof are a successful reflection of their concern for a better future. The communities of the world should come to a single-liner perspective that we are the people for the people. The implementation of the law is only possible when we know about but unfortunately, systemic flaws are unable to make it simple for a crystal-clear understanding of the masses, she concluded.
